The deadline for applying to be a vendor at the Pork and Beats Festival in Elizabethtown has been extended. Merchants and crafters are encouraged to get their applications in for
the early November event.

The Town of Elizabethtown is hosting the heritage festival at the Cape Fear Farmers Market. The event begins on Friday, November 4 with BBQ competitors receiving and prepping their whole hogs.

Popular local band, 87 & Pine, will be providing the “Beats” on the Smithfield stage starting at 6:30pm. Food trucks with “anything but pork” will be available. On Saturday, the BBQ competitors will be judged and announced. BBQ plates will be available for purchase as well as other food trucks. Arts and craft vendors will be selling their wares. Musical entertainment will include another favorite, Blackwater. Food Vendors can sell anything but pork on both Friday night and Saturday. The deadline to submit a food vendor application is September 15. All food vendors must apply for a Temporary Food Establishment (TFE) permit from Bladen County Environmental Health.

Craft and merchandise vendors can set and sell on Saturday. Location is on a first come, first served basis. Craft and merchandise vendors should apply by September 30. Applications are on the Elizabethtown’s website and at www.porkandbeats.com. Applications can also be picked up at Town Hall (805 W Broad Street, Elizabethtown) and at the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area chamber of Commerce (207 E Broad Street, Elizabethtown).
