The deadline is fast approaching for the Kiwanis Club of Elizabethtown scholarships. Dr. Lisa Bryan, the club’s president, wants to remind students to submit their applications.
There are some requirements for the scholarship opportunity. The student applying must be graduating in the 2023 graduating class and must have enrolled in a community college or a university for the upcoming fall semester. All applicants must live in Bladen County, be active in community service, and be available to attend a Kiwanis meeting in June or July.
Dr. Bryan explained, “We will select one student from East Bladen, one student from West Bladen, one student from our Key Clubs, and one student from a private school or home school organization. Any questions about the scholarships should be sent to
kiwanisbladen@gmail.com.”
The club meetings for the Kiwanis and Key Club members are held on the third Tuesday of each month in Elizabethtown. However, Dr. Bryan announced the March meeting had been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
