The Bladen County Board of Commissioners are expected to recognize 11 employees for their years of service at Monday’s scheduled meeting. The board also plans to recognize Larry Hammond, who is retiring after 30 years as Veterans Service director.

The commissioners are scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. inside the Commissioners’ Room located on the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse at 106 East Broad Street in Elizabethtown. The meeting is open to the public. The meeting also can be heard via telephone by calling 571-317-3122 with access code 377-006-581.

Hammond is retiring July 31. He also served as Bladen County elections director from 1993 until 2011.

• Stephen Alley, Building Inspections
• Daniel Allen, EMS
• BJ Clark, Finance
• Travis Deaver, Sheriff’s Office
• Danielle Duncan, Sheriff’s Office-Communication

There is a lengthy consent agenda which includes resolutions supporting naming bridges and overpasses in memory of Bladen County law enforcement officers as well as accepting bids for purchases of county-owned land.
