Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mostly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 92 … Heat index values as high as 104 and a 70% chance of rain … more of the same Saturday night … low around 74 and 60% chance of rain.

Sunday … A chance of showers and thunderstorms after about 2 p.m. Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 98 and a 40% chance of precipitation.

Time to trim the weeds at our house…

Deaths are difficult to deal with … Former Bladenboro Mayor Livingston ‘Nut” Lewis died Thursday … Understand he had had surgery recently and never recovered … Prayers for his family and friends…

Vacation time … welcome all to the area…

On the subject of sports … Looking ahead to high school football … Practice begins July 31 … 1st scrimmage is August 10 … 1st game of the year set for August 23…

So … what are your plans for the weekend? Find a cool place and “hunker down.” Not time to “play man” as hot as it is … except golfers … Never too hot on the golf course…
