All Star results from last night’s Annual Event … American League 5 – National League 3 … big hit came late off the bat of Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran … The Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani slammed a 3 run blast early to account for the Nationals runs … The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The American League is now 28-7-1 at the All-Star Game since 1988. The overall record for the series is fairly even, 48-44 in favor of the AL.
When I think of All Star heroes … Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, and a host of great pitchers … among my best memories … long ago …’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
Nothing better than sharing an evening with a long time friend from years ago … Had that pleasure last evening … So many great memories from 25 years on the road for the NC Association of County Commissioners … working shoulder to shoulder with the League of Municipalities as well … Statewide, from Murphy to Manteo.
For many … summer events include vacations, vacation bible school … etc. High school football practice begins in a couple of weeks … I know … it’s hot outside…
Republicans appear to have made the most of their time at the National convention in Milwaukee … Comes to a close … Thursday night when former President Donald Trump formally accepts the nomination as the candidate for president…
