Good morning! 3 things to know for Tuesday, October 20

1. BOO! Looking for a scary, fun outing as Halloween approaches. Here are a couple of ideas. The White Lake Haunted Trail is Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. until midnight and Oct. 30-31 from 8 p.m. until midnight at the Water Rescue building on N.C. 53. Cost is $5 per person. Clarkton Dixie Youth Baseball’s Haunted House is open every Friday and Saturday through Halloween as well as Oct. 29 from 7 p.m. until midnight. It’s located at the corner of N.C. 211 West and White/McEwen Road, about 3 1/2 miles west of Clarkton. Cost is $5 per person.

2. Researcher, author and filmmaker Kevin Duffus will present his Last Days of Black Beard the Pirate program at 11 a.m. today at Bladen Community College. It’s part of the school’s Writers Series. The event is free and open to the public. For information, call Dr. Joyce Bahhouth at (910) 879-5540.

3. Elizabethtown Church of God is having its fall festival Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Truck or Treat, silent auction, yard sale and games will be among the activities. The church is located on N.C. 242 North near Jones Lake.
