This is another day the Lord has made……let us enjoy despite all that goes on around us…..
I like to think about friends….like family of friends…We all have them….our regular family, our church family, if you belong to a civic club…another family I enjoy is the Bladen Sports Network gang, the Star Telephone board family, Bladen Agri-Industrial group, the BladenOnline family, neighborhood group and more….We all have them, some more than others…I have a new group….a group consisting of Tar Heel and White Oak area residents that meet, eat, reminiscence..spin a few yarns and be on our way…The meetings are around noontime…many times under a tobacco barn shelter with a delicious meal prepared by experienced tobacco barn chefs….They produce delicious food……For an hour or so, all are equals…that appear to enjoy the company of the others…..I leave thinking I am among men most richly blessed…..
We all need each other…We, our Bladen County family, have had more than our share of bad news recently….Better days are ahead…I hope…
High School football activity ramps up Friday night….West Bladen at Clinton and Wallace Rose Hill at East Bladen….Four of the best teams in the conference square off…..Teams need community support…
Elizabethtown Middle School is sponsoring a reverse raffle Saturday night…first such effort by the supporters of the school….Best bet is call the school…I think….
