Several vehicles were broken into in Elizabethtown Wednesday night and the Elizabethtown Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating the person or persons responsible.

The vehicles were broken into on Wednesday between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

According to Elizabethtown Police Chief Kip Hester, several vehicles were broken into at different locations in Elizabethtown.

“Elizabethtown officers responded to Healthworks Fitness Center, the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church,  and the Centro Familiar Cristiano Church located on South Poplar Street to  investigate the break ins,” said Hester.

He said the suspect(s) entered the vehicles by breaking the passenger or driver side glass and taking belongings that were left in plain sight. Hester said the suspect(s) spent very little time in each vehicle and only broke into the vehicles where valuables were plainly visible.

“I’d like to remind citizens to be extra vigilant especially during the holiday season. Please be aware of your surroundings and do not leave vehicles unlocked or leave valuables in plain view,” said Hester. “With the holiday rush we all tend to let our guard down, and become distracted. If you observe any suspicious activity please don’t hesitate to call 911 and make law enforcement aware, sometimes the most smallest detail can make the greatest difference when investigating criminal activity.”

If anyone has any suspect information in this case please contact the Elizabethtown Police Department at  910-862-3125.
