Bladen County SchoolsThe Bladen County Board of Education will meet on Monday and is scheduled to discuss the issue of school consolidation once again.

The consolidation issue will be addressed under action items.

Also on the agenda under action items are overnight field trip requests, fundraising requests, a contract for psychological services, and the approval of the June 30, 2015, audit report.

Matters on the agenda for discussion will be a report from Bladen County Schools Superintendent Robert Taylor regarding the Department of Public Instruction School Transformation Team and a discipline report from Dr. Heavenridge.

Bladen County Schools Finance Director Sharon Penny will give the board a summary of the December financial statement.

The board also has a closed session planned for the discussion of personnel matters, student transfers, and legal issues.

One closed session action item appears to address certified/classified personnel.

Taylor is also scheduled to give a report regarding the Bladen County Schools budget calendar and the Early College Proposal with Bladen Community College.

The board is scheduled to have spotlights and recognitions as well. Bladen County Schools Public Information Officer Valerie Newton is scheduled to present a board recognition, recognize the Teacher Assistant of the Year, and to present the student attendance banners.

No one is scheduled to appear to address the board under citizen participation.
