Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingJune 30, tomorrow we begin the second half of 2016.  Check your New Years Resolutions.

Suggested reading, an article in ‘The Atlantic’ news source: “How American Politics became so Insane,” by Jonathan Rauch.  It is in the July-August 2016 edition.  Google it.  It’s long, but very informative.

Bladen County is becoming a destination for tourists.  Weddings, family reunions, exciting activities, so much to do and places to stay.

Lu Mil Vineyard, a rural, quiet, beautiful setting.  Offering sites for weddings, meeting space, or a great place to just relax in one of their many cottages.

Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery, similar to Lu Mil with cottages and a chef, animals quietly going about their business, suitable for weddings and business meetings and more.

Green’s Pond, long a favorite fishing hole, now with cottages, a great destination location.

Allen Brothers Hunting Preserve, the perfect place for hunters, but more.  Business retreats, family or school class reunions complete with a lodge and food.

And the latest is The Elizabethtown Inn, offering bed and breakfast accommodations in one of the oldest structures in the area offering the latest conveniences in “comfortable, tastefully renovated rooms.”

There are more, but all these appeal to tourists planning trips to this area.  All have websites, all with a little different appeal.  Suggestion, plan a trip to the area and visit them all.

We are fortunate to have so many wonderful, local offerings, plus White Lake, Jones Lake, Cape Fear River and more.

We would love to have you visit Bladen County.

Bet I left one or two out, if yes, I apologize.

It’s hard to make a comeback when you haven’t been anywhere.  Written in the dust on the back of a bus.

Remember, it’s not “How high are you?” it’s “Hi, how are you?”  Rest stop off Route 81, WV.

I’ve decided that to raise my grades, I must lower my standards.  Houghton Library, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass.
