A ribbon cutting was held on Thursday afternoon at the Dublin Medical Clinic to celebrate the completion of construction of a new clinic. The clinic was dedicated in memory of Dr. Summerlin who began a medical clinic in Dublin many years ago.
Ashley Dowless opened the ribbon cutting ceremony by welcoming everyone. She explained that she wanted the community to know that the new building is a commitment to the citizens of Dublin and surrounding areas. She added how thankful she is that many years ago Dr. Summerlin invested his life here in Dublin. The new clinic was dedicated to Summerlin at the groundbreaking ceremony. Ms. Dowless thanked many for their hard work and dedication throughout the project.
Horace Wyatt, Mayor of Dublin, thanked the Cape Fear Valley Health system for their dedication to the Dublin community.
Dr. Roxie Wells, President of Cape Fear Valley- Bladen Healthcare and Hoke Healthcare, thanked the Bladen Healthcare team for their hard work on the project, Horace Wyatt and the Town of Dublin for his assistance throughout the project, and Adam Linker with Kate B. Reynolds Trust. She added that she has loved her time with Bladen Healthcare thus far and is excited about the future.
Dr. Kimberly Hensley Fife, who is a doctor at the Dublin Clinic, said that she is from a small town in West Virginia which is a lot like Dublin. She said she has loved her time with Bladen Healthcare and loves each of her patients as her own family. Crystal Newton, DNP, FNP-C, is also a provider at the Dublin clinic.
Following the ribbon cutting, guests and the public toured the new facility, met the staff of the clinic and enjoyed refreshments.
