North Carolina Pest Management Association recently held their 67th annual Pest Control Technician’s School in Durham. The event was attended by 900 pest management technicians and included three days of training, continuing education and networking, the most current information on every day pests and an update on the Zika Virus.

The event was held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham.

NCPMA President Dana McDuffie said everyone involved with the school is dedicated to ensuring the PCT participants leave armed with the most current information on pest management. The 2017 PCT school offered sessions that included information about ant treatments, termite treatments, and Zika updates. Both training and renewal classes were taught regarding the Wood-Destroying Insects Report Accreditation. Also, awards are given for the annual Technician of the Year.

McDuffie said the event got its start about 70 years ago when 40 pest management professionals all gathered in Raleigh for the first Pest Control Operator’s School to be conducted in Raleigh.
