West Bladen’s Lady Knights, the 2017 Four County Conference champions, open the NCHSAA Class 2A Play-offs against a Farmville Central team that finished fifth in the Eastern Plains Conference.

The Lady Jaguars bring a 10-12 overall record into Wednesday night’s 6:00 first round game at West Bladen. Farmville Central was 2-7 in league play finishing behind North Johnston, Washington, Wilson Beddingfield and SouthWest Edgecombe.

A pair of freshmen, Abby Foster (2-6; 4.78 ERA) and Gracen Terrell (6-4; 4.75 ERA) lead the Farmville pitching staff. Senior Kacey Rose (2-2; 2.75 ERA) has also seen time in the circle.

Foster leads the Farmville hitters (.464 average; 29 runs batted in). Sophmore Kate Lancaster (.462 average) leads the team in runs scored (31). Freshman Sydney Wade (.343), Rose (.300) and sophmore Caroline Breault (.292) are other leading Lady Jaguar hitters.

West Bladen lost only to Wallace-Rose Hill in Four County play and lost two non-conference games to Whiteville.

Sophmore Conner Brisson lead the Knight hitters (.554 average). Sophmore Carley Dawson is batting .500 and leads the team in RBI’s (29) and runs scored (34). Senior Laney Autry has scored 23 runs and has a .406 batting average.

Senior Laikyn Pait has slugged 3 home runs and is batting .406. Senior Alanna Ludlum has walloped 3 homers and has a .375 average and 27 rbi’s. Senior Kassidy Anderson has scored 25 runs and is batting .381.

Other leaders include freshman Kyla Reed (.406 average), senior Sophia Singletary (.365 average) and senior Jenna Dove (.333 average).

Singletary has posted a 14-3 record with a 1.47 ERA in the circle. Junior Madison Collins is 4-0 with a 2.41 ERA in 11 appearances.
