Hurricane Matthew’s destruction left a lot of roads closed and needing repair. U.S. 701 in between Bladen and Columbus county was closed from the storm’s damage.
However, this week U.S. 701 between Elizabethtown and Whiteville has been opened once again. More roads are scheduled to open up soon in Bladen County.
