Thank a LinemanBurgaw,  N.C. (April 6, 2015) – Four County EMC is joining more than 900 electric cooperatives across the nation to celebrate Monday, April 13 as National Lineman Appreciation Day. The occasion provides an opportunity to recognize the hard working men and women who selflessly build, maintain and repair the poles and lines that power our lives.

“Electric linemen don’t often receive the recognition they deserve,” said CEO Mitchell Keel. “They work all hours of the day, often in hazardous conditions far from their families, going above and beyond to restore power to their communities. Our linemen, as well as linemen from across the nation, truly deserve this special day of recognition.”

There are more than 18,000 electric cooperative linemen in the nation, of which 1,400 are from North Carolina and 27 are employed by Four County EMC.  Electric cooperatives are proudly recognizing all electric linemen for the services they perform around the clock to keep power flowing and protect the public’s safety.

Four County EMC invites cooperative members to take a moment to thank a lineman for the work they do. Join us on Facebook and use #ThankaLineman to show your support for the men and women who light our lives.

Four County EMC is a member-owned electric cooperative serving more than 32,500 members in Bladen, Duplin, Pender, Sampson, Columbus and Onslow counties.
