It’s time to shop! Merchants in downtown Elizabethtown have a host of bargains waiting to greet shoppers this weekend for the annual Fourth of July Sidewalk Sale. The Sidewalk Sale will take place from Thursday, June 29th, through Tuesday, July 4th. The sidewalk sale is an event that is enjoyed by merchants, visitors and residents alike.

Stores will be offering plenty of bargains from which folks can choose. Summer merchandise as well as new arrivals will be available and there are plenty of items which are sure to please just about anyone on your shopping list.

Karen Suggs, owner of Fisher’s Men’s and Ladies Shop, said shoppers will find plenty of items on sale including ladies shoes. She said Southern Tide and Fish Hippie knit shirts will be on sale for half-price. All items on the sidewalk will be reduced and there will items on sale inside the store as well.

Suggs said she is also offering jewelry grab bags for $9.95 each.

Michael Leinwand, of Leinwand’s, said the staff in their store is excited about the sale and they have been busy getting things ready.

“This is by far our biggest sale of the year,” said Leinwand.

He said shoppers will find items inside the store marked down between 25 to 50 percent. Items on the sidewalk will be reduced 50 percent or more, said Leinwand.

Shoppers can choose from shoes, pants, shirts, suits and shorts.

At Rays Jewelry and Furniture Liquidators shoppers will also find bargains awaiting them. Ray Britt, owner of the store, said “The Sidewalk Sale is always an event we look forward to.”

He is offering jewelry for one-half of the lowest price marked. He said there are also discounts on items throughout the store. Britt said he and his staff will assist their customers any way they can.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and enjoy the annual Fourth of July Sidewalk Sale. Don’t forget the annual Fourth of July Fireworks display which is scheduled for Tuesday, July 4th, at 9 p.m. at Goldston’s Beach at White Lake.
