Animal-Adoption-2The Bladen County Animal Shelter and control was out today, Thursday, August 20th at the State Employees Credit Union in Elizabethtown. The shelter staff members were offering pets for a forever home, 1-year Rabies vaccines, and micro-chipping services. Karen Guyton, a community member from Bladenboro said, “These events are great.”

Karen Suggs said, “We have done quite a bit of vaccinations and micro-chipping, but no adoptions yet.”

Animal-Adoption-1Mike Jackson, President of the Bladen County Animal Control Board said, “I think this is a tremendous event. I think this excellent exposure for the shelter. So many people don’t know where the shelter is and now the shelter is open to public Monday through Friday from noon until 5 pm.”

Sylvia Kim from “A Shelter Friend” rescue group said, “I think this event is great. Micro-chipping helps find animals. You know when you adopt from the shelter you can always come back and get your animals micro-chipped.”

The event was from 1 pm until 4 pm. The shelter is planning on having more community events. For more information visit the shelter’s Facebook page.
