Ashley Trivette, Candidate for County Commissioner District 3 attended the Bladen County Firefighters Association meeting on Thursday night at Bay Tree Lakes community building and presented the Association President, Mr. Nathan Dowlless with $500.00 contribution towards the new Emergency Services Training Facility.

Ashley Trivette, candidate for Bladen County Commissioner (District 3) spent much of last week meeting voters and taking a closer look at our county government

On Thursday, the candidate met and spent some time with Bladen County School Superintendent, Dr. Taylor.

“I had a very good and informative meeting with our Superintendent.” Ashley stated.

“He was very receptive to my visit and graciously provided me some valuable information and insight regarding our county schools.” “If elected, I look forward to working with Dr. Taylor & his staff, helping to ensure that every student has the opportunities available to receive the highest quality of education.”

“I will also work hard to ensure our citizens have excellent job opportunities, right here at home in Bladen County!” stated Ashley.

Ashley explained that she wanted to “improve her understanding and knowledge of the county’s economic development goals, and requested a meeting with Economic Development Director, Mr. Chuck Huestess.

After meeting with Mr. Huestess, the District 3 candidate toured the Bladen County Industrial park and incubator programs, which are geared to assist & attract small business and manufacturing companies looking to invest in the county.

“I want to thank Mr. Huestess for his time last week & for providing me a better understanding of our economic development programs and goals for Bladen County.”

Finally, Ashley wrapped up the week with an update and tour of the new Emergency Services Training Facility located at White Lake and later attended the Bladen County Firefighters Association Meeting at the Bay tree Community Center. The candidate addressed those in attendance and expressed appreciation for their commitment and dedication to protecting and serving the citizens of Bladen County.
