Good morning! 3 things to know for Thursday, August 20
1. Would you like to learn another language? What about sign language? Bladen Community College has an American Sign Language class underway. Classes are Mondays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Building 3, Room 102 on the main campus. Call Silas Acosta at 879-5588 for information.
2. A reminder that the 13 Bladen County schools have open houses scheduled today. Times vary with a couple of schools starting at 1 p.m. and a couple of schools starting at 5 p.m. The other nine schools have hours in between. Check with the child’s school for exact times. And, parents, Monday is the first day of school, just in case your kids haven’t told you.
3. Did you know that August is National Goat Cheese Month, National Read A Romance Month, Shop Online For Groceries Month and Happiness Happens Month? There are several others, but there’s only so much time to celebrate. So, let’s read a romance novel while shopping online for goat cheese and then smile about it. You in?
