The Bay Tree Lakes Fire Department is still collecting donations, toys or money, to contribute to the second annual toy drive. If anyone is interested in giving, donations can be dropped off at the fire department or by contacting Kevin Talbert at 336-350-4309.
This event started last year with collecting donations for the New Hanover Regional Children’s Hospital and this year the fire department has added Day Spring of Wallace Retirement Facility to give to seniors as well. They are also collecting for families in the community that need help providing Christmas gifts to their little ones.
Many families in our community have unmet needs and it is a wonderful feeling to help them through difficult times and spread some Christmas Cheer. The fire department is asking for the support of our Bay Tree neighbors and those in the surrounding community to contribute in any way that you can. No amount is too small, and every bit counts. We would like to see this event grow more every year and reach more people that are in need each Christmas. The fire department will be delivering on Wednesday, December 20th, in the early morning so please bring your donations by December 18th.
