The Bladen County Board of Education plays a vital role in shaping the educational landscape of the county, and its commitment to transparency and community involvement is evident through its regular and special called meetings.
With a dedication to fostering open dialogue and engagement, the Board holds regularly scheduled meetings each month, as well as special called meetings as needed. These meetings serve as platforms for discussing important matters related to education and school governance, and they are open to the public.
Individuals who wish to address the Board have the opportunity to do so by following a simple process. They can request to speak up to two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting or up to 10 minutes prior to the meeting starting. This can be done by emailing Elly Johnson, Director of Communications, at ewjohnson@bladen.k12.nc.us, or by signing in to officially address the Board on the day of the meeting.
The official Board of Education meeting is held at 6:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month. These meetings take place in the Board Room of the District Office located at 1489 US Hwy 701 South, Elizabethtown, unless otherwise announced.
For the convenience of the community, the dates for the 2023-2024 Board of Education Meetings have been scheduled in advance. These dates are as follows:
