It was announced that the Jaycee Chapter in Elizabethtown was number one in North Carolina in their population group.
Bladen County unemployment for the month was 12.5% compared to the previous month’s figure of 11.7%.
The Bladen County Board of Education appointed a Blue Ribbon Commission to evaluate the current school system. Those appointed to the commission were Betsy Fields, Eugene Brown, James Mitchell, John Knechtges, Delilah Blanks, Mary Jo Walters and James Burney.
