Over 500 Democrats attended the Spring Rally of the Bladen Democratic Party held at the Elizabethtown National Guard Armory. The guest speaker was North Carolina Attorney General Robert Morgan.
The Clarkton Rescue Squad held their bi-annual BBQ dinner at the Clarkton Rescue Squad Building.
D.M. (Mac) Campbell, Jr. of Campbell Oil Co. was elected Bladen County Chairman of the North Carolina Petroleum Council.
