A Staff Report
*Over 5,000 voters in Bladen County called for a runoff in the Bladen Sheriff’s race. Sheriff John B. Allen missed his bid for reelection by less than 100 votes thus bringing about a runoff with candidate Jabe T. Frink.
*Robert W. Batson was announced as the new manager of Veeder Root of Elizabethtown.
*The East Bladen High School “Singing Cougars” presented a concert at Trinity UMC.
