The Bladen County Draft Board was increased to five members. These five members were Johnnie Hemingway, Erron Hall, David Shaw, Ferris Hester and Robert N. Melvin.
Dr. William Walter Woodhouse, Jr., a native of Bladen County, was named Tar Heel of the Week by the News and Observer in Raleigh.
According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s office an investigation was being held concerning three homes broken into in the county.
