Several Bladen County families, struggling to overcome the recent hurricane devastation, will received $500 grants, to assist in their recovery efforts.
Recently, First Bank of Elizabethtown made a donation to Bladen We Care to help Bladen area hurricane victims and Bladen We Care matched the grant.
Many of the first round of grants are being funded through the Bladen Disaster Relief Group, led by Rev. Jason Williams and other volunteers working in the Kelly area.  There are other volunteers groups working in the area as well.
One family in the White Oak area was also awarded a grant.
Cash is needed, as well as furniture in ‘mint’ condition.  According to Rev. Williams, many families have lost everything.  Bedding is a huge need.
If you would like to assist, call 910-549-0661.
