Due to the possible risk of localized flooding and gusty winds as a result of Hurricane Idalia, and out of an abundance of caution, Bladen County Schools will transition to an asynchronous remote learning day for Thursday, August 31, it was announced Tuesday afternoon.

Teachers will send assignments home with students on Wednesday, the school system said. Classes will be in session Wednesday, August 30.

In addition, all after school activities for Wednesday and Thursday will be cancelled.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Bladen County Schools plans to operate on a normal schedule on Friday, September 1. People are encouraged to stay tuned to the district website, social media accounts, and local news outlets for additional updates.
