The Clarkton Lions Club has a blood drive set for Saturday, August 12 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. inside the Clarkton Fire Department at 205 Peach Street. Donors will receive $35 in E-gift card rewards from The Blood Connection through their online account. The Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center bloodmobile will be at Bladen County Hospital, 501 S. Poplar Street in Elizabethtown on August 16 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. For information, call 910-862-5201.
Photo identification required for all donors. New FDA rules make many donors eligible even though they lived in Europe between 1980-1996 or served in the Middle East.
It’s recommended that a donor drink plenty of water and fluids before donating and eat a good meal beforehand.
