The Boost the Boro, Inc. members are gearing up for another history-making fall festival. Committee members met Tuesday to discuss the 15th Annual Beast Fest. The event will be Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29.

Committee members started going down the checklist. An important item to announce, the emcee for the event will be Mara MaJilton with WECT.

The schedule for the event will be Friday from 5:30 pm until 10 pm and Saturday from 8 am until 10 pm. Bands will perform both Friday night and Saturday night. Autumn Tyde will entertain Friday night, and Saturday, Cat 5 will take the stage. Both bands are scheduled to play from 7 pm until 10 pm.

The carnival rides have been booked. Face painting, a car show, and a Trunk or Treat will all be at the festival. T-shirts and hoodies for the event have been ordered. The softball tournament was canceled. However, there will be a blind draw cornhole tournament again this year. Also, for the first time ever, there will be a bike show.

Don White with the committee reported that there are currently 23 sponsors for the event. “This is the most money collected by sponsors in our history,” White stated.

Terry Nance, President of Boost the Boro, responded, “People see what we are doing in this town, they like it, and they want to be part of it.”

There is still time for sponsorships to be secured. Anyone seeking the opportunity to be in front of thousands and help support a local event may email boosttheboro@gmail.com.

Food and craft vendors have reserved their spaces at the festival as well. No food vendor spots are left. Only non-food vendors are being accepted. Anyone interested in being a vendor may contact Claudette Guy by email at clguyretired@gmail.com.
