ROSEBORO – Senior Tyre Boykin fired in 16 of his game-high 23 points in the first half Wednesday night as West Bladen raced to a 33-13 lead en route to a 60-20 non-conference boys basketball victory.
Boykin drained a trio of 3-point shots in the first half and pumped in 3 other baskets and a free throw. Senior Tra’shawn Ballard muscled in 2 baskets, junior Josh Lewis flipped in a basket and a free throw, junior Shy’Ron Adams buried a 3-point shot and senior Xayvon Davis and freshman Gary Parker dropped in baskets.
Knight junior Donovan Stone tossed in 4 baskets and a free throw in the second half to finish with 9 points. Junior Jadacus Register threw in 2 baskets in the final period. Davis powered in a pair of baskets in the third period and totaled 6 points in the game.
Lewis and Boykin nailed 3-point shots in the third quarter, and Parker added a basket and a free throw in the final period. Lewis tallied 7 points in the game.
Tillyon Williams led Lakewood with 7 points, and Kaleb James followed with 6 points.
Coach Travis Pait’s Knights improved to 5-11 on the season and will return to Three Rivers Conference action Friday night at East Columbus.
