Ashton Robeson, a West Bladen High School rising Junior and Boy Scout was seen working hard at the Browns Creek Bike Park and Nature Trail this past Saturday, June 22nd. Robeson explained his plan was to replace all the boards on the bridge at the park with new boards as his Eagle Scout Project.

The bridge had been damaged severely due to all the flood and rain in 2018. Robeson is a scout with Troop 622 in Dublin and is striving to be an Eagle Scout

Since 1912, the Eagle Scout rank has represented a milestone of accomplishment—perhaps without equal—that is recognized across the country and even the world, according to Scouts.org

Ashton will be the first Eagle Scout from the Dublin Troop in well over a decade, according to his parents. Ashton roped in assistance from Ryan Pait, Ken Shughart, David Valenta, his dad, Kevin and his brother, Channing Robeson for the project.

The supplies for the project were provided by the Cape Fear SORBA. Follow the link below to find out more about what it takes to be an Eagle Scout. The bike trail and nature park has been drawing in large crowds to the community for years. The bridge was first constructed in 2015.

The bike park and nature trail is located at 1910 E Broad St, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.

*The first report gave credit to the Town of Elizabethtown for donating the supplies, but the supplies were donated by Cape Fear SORBA
