Charter Schools Advisory Board Highlights
The North Carolina Charter School Advisory Board met April 8th at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Curriculum flexibility, training, expanding board, grants and more were all topics of discussion during the meeting.

The next CSAB meeting will take place Monday, May 6th at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

Application Season
This month’s meeting concluded the 2018 application season interview process. Two more charter school applicants were recommended for approval. In May the State Board of Education will review and discuss the charter school application recommendations CSAB has made during this application cycle. Final approval of charter recommendations will be made by the State Board of Education in June. In addition, the CSAB discussed changes to the application process that will be recommended to the State Board of Education in future meetings.
