Not sure if your child is properly secured in the car? Bladen County Health and Human Services Agency will host a child passenger safety check tomorrow at the Bladen County Health Department.

This safety check event will take place from 2 pm until 5 pm tomorrow.

The CDC says, “In 2019, 608 child passengers age 12 and younger died in motor vehicle crashes,1 and more than 91,000 were injured.2 Of the children 12 and younger who died in a crash (for whom restraint use was known), 38% were not buckled up.1 Parents and caregivers can make a lifesaving difference by checking whether their children are properly buckled on every trip.”

The CDC also says, “Child restraint systems are often used incorrectly. An estimated 46% of car seats and booster seats are misused in a way that could reduce their effectiveness.”

If you think there is a chance that your child is not properly secured in vehicles, it is a great idea to visit the Health Department tomorrow to ensure your child’s safety.

The Health Department is located at 300 Mercer Mill Road in Elizabethtown.
