Update: Closings, delays and cancellations due to Hurricane Florence

Update 3 : Several organizations, event organizers and schools have announced closings and delays due to Hurricane Florence. Below is the current list of closings and cancellations as of Tuesday morning.
In order to ensure the safety of staff, all branches of the Bladen County Public Library will be closed Thursday, September 13- Saturday, September 15. The libraries do not have Sunday hours. READ MORE
In order to ensure the safety of employees and staff, the County of Bladen has made the decision to close county offices on Thursday, September 13, and Friday, September 14, 2018.
The Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy will hold classes on Wednesday and will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
The Dublin Peanut Festival has been cancelled, according to Jade Carter, one of the event’s many organizers.

Bladen Community College will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, through Saturday, September 15, due to the predicted inclement weather event of Hurricane Florence. This includes all activities and workforce continuing education classes. Updates will be distributed through our ReGroup messaging system, on the college website, college social media, and through area media outlets.
From Bladen County Schools Public Relations Director Valerie Newton, Bladen County Schools will be closed for students on Wednesday, September 12, through Friday, September 14, with an optional teacher workday on Wednesday, September 12.
Due to the anticipated arrival of Hurricane Florence, the Junk Swap scheduled for Thursday, September 13, at the Bladen County Public Library has been postponed. Stay tuned for the announcement of a new date for the event.
The Emereau: Bladen Board of Director’s Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 18, 2018, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 5:00 p.m.
The Bladen County Courts have announced they will be closed on Wednesday due to the storm.
Emereau:Bladen has announced they will be closed beginning on Wednesday and will remain closed Thursday and Friday.
Elizabethtown Christian Academy will be closing at 1 p.m. Wednesday and will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Several events have been postponed or cancelled. The Cry Out America event scheduled for tonight (Tuesday) at the Bladen County Courthouse has been postponed with a new date to be announced later.
The monthly luncheon meeting of the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce scheduled for today has been cancelled.
The Bladen Community College Small Business Center has postponed all of their Small Business Seminars scheduled for Thursday, September 13th.
