Due to extreme cold, wind gust, and rain COVID-19 testing is cancelled at the Bladen County Health Department for today. Testing will resume on Monday January 11, 2021 at 9:30am.

The COVID-19 Vaccine Plan Phase 1b started this week. Bladen County Health and Human Serviced Director, Dr. Teresa (Terri) Duncan said, “Helping the 75 years of age group receive their vaccines has been very rewarding because they know what vaccines can do to prevent death and are eager to get their vaccines. It’s been worth it all.”

The health department started administering the vaccines to the most at risk population on Wednesday this week.  A total of 50 vaccines we given on the first day at the local health department.

According to Dr. Duncan, the Bladen County Health Department team is also working as quickly as possible to vaccinate as safely as possible, maintaining social distancing and observing people after their injections for possible reactions.

There is a COVID Appointment Hotline for Seniors age 75 and older. The Hotline is available from 9:00 am-4:30 pm. Anyone age 75 or older is encouraged to call this number to get on the list for vaccinations. The Hotline Number is 910-872-6291.

Dr. Duncan said, “If they leave a message they are on the list.”
