Volunteers fanned out across Bladen County on Friday morning to spend time volunteering on the United Way Day of Caring.

Projects taking place include packing bags of food that will be distributed to Bladen County Schools students. Volunteers will also be constructing 11 wheelchair ramps, and distributing gift bags to more than 500 residents in the county’s nursing homes.

“We want everyone to know that someone cares,” said United Way’s Barbara Knight.

There were plenty of volunteers on hand to see the projects were completed
