The Dublin Peanut Festival Committee held it’s first meeting of 2021 on February 4th. Wearing mask, those in attendance opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The night’s meeting consisted of nominations for committee positions with Richard Sibbett, Chairperson for the last three years, resigning but staying on as a committee member. Christy Dowless accepted the position as Chairperson for the upcoming term. Horace Wyatt, who has been treasurer for many years, continued in that capacity. Scott Bell was appointed secretary. The vice-chairperson position is yet to be filled.
Next committee meeting will be held March 11.
We are looking for new individuals to join the committee. You do not have to reside in Dublin to be a member of the committee. The committee has a need for members who are able to be active all year long working and planning for the festival. The committee meets once per month except in August, when the committee will meet weekly until the festival.
We are hoping this year we will be able to bring family fun to our Dublin community with the pageant, parade and festival.
