This Saturday, March 14, the Dublin Peanut Festival committee will host its annual Oyster Roast. The event will be held at Lu Mil Vineyard in The General Store and will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event is held each year to help with the expenses of the Festival and an annual scholarship.
Each year the committee gives a scholarship to a graduating senior at West Bladen High School who will be attending Bladen Community College. Also, every year on the third Saturday in September the committee gears up for the annual Dublin Peanut Festival.
The proceeds of these 2 events have allowed the committee to help with numerous worthwhile causes throughout the county. The goal this year is to surpass last year’s figure to enable the committee to continue to contribute to the scholarship fund and the many needs of the area. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $45.00 each at Lu Mil Vineyard, Taylor Manufacturing or from any Peanut Festival committee member. Tickets will also be available at the door for $50.00 each.
