The Key Clubs at East and West Bladen High Schools have agreed to participate in the (almost yearly) “Canned Food Drive Competition” from the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club. The club members encourage all students and community members to help participate in the challenge.

The contest will be held from now until November 21, 2022. The school that collects the most food items during the food drive will win a trophy from the Kiwanis Club, which will be presented at the East Bladen versus West Bladen basketball game.

A blue and purple box will be located at each school for the collection. Pop-top can foods, (spaghetti, ravioli, soups), mac and cheese, instant grits, oatmeal, pop-tarts, juice boxes, breakfast bars, can fruit, peanut butter crackers, and other food items are desired for the drive.

The food will benefit the Bladen Crisis Center food bank and other local food pantries.

Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership.
