Attention Bladen County 4-A members with a flock of chickens that are currently laying eggs, registration is open for the fourth annual Egg-cellent Egg Contest. Bladen County 4-H and N.C. Cooperative Extension Service-Bladen County Center announced Thursday.

Registration is due by Sept 8th and can be done at https://go.ncsu.edu/2023eggcontestregistration.

Most of the contest is virtual and youth will submit up to 2 sets of 6 eggs (half dozen) on November 7th to be judged. The youth will also do some fun supplemental sections about eggs and chickens.

Youth must be in 4-H and Bladen County 4-H can help with registration. If not an active 4-H member, contact Bladen County 4-H to get enrolled.

The cost for the contest is $15 and all youth that complete the project will get a t-shirt. The top 3 in each age and egg division will receive ribbons and prize money.

For questions or information about the contest, call the Extension office at 910-862-4591 or email Becky Spearman at becky_spearman@ncsu.edu.
