Elizabethtown, NC – Parents and caregivers in Elizabethtown have an opportunity to ensure their children’s safety on the road. The Elizabethtown Fire Department is hosting a Car Seat Check Event, a community initiative to provide professional car seat inspections by Nationally Certified Technicians. This event, which follows the popular Elizabethtown Library Story Time, is scheduled for Thursday, March 28th, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The safety event is set to take place at the Elizabethtown Fire Department headquarters, located at 300 E Broad St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337. The initiative is part of a collaboration among several local organizations committed to the welfare and safety of children in the community, including SAFE KIDS Bladen, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Bladen County Health & Human Services, and the Bladen County Public Library.

Attendees can expect not only expert advice and car seat safety inspections but also a chance to win a new car seat in a free raffle exclusively for event participants. This engaging event underscores the importance of proper car seat use and offers a hands-on learning experience for parents to secure their little ones in the correct car seats confidently.

The organizers encourage the community to take advantage of this free event, which is invaluable in preventing injuries in the event of a car accident. As motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for children, the correct installation and use of car seats are paramount.

Join the Elizabethtown Fire Department in their efforts to keep children safe. Remember to mark your calendars for this essential community service, and spread the word to friends and family. For more information, contact the Elizabethtown Fire Department or the Bladen County Public Library.

The Car Seat Check Event is a child-focused safety initiative that cannot be missed. Participate, learn, and potentially walk away with a brand new car seat for your child. Together, we can make a difference in safeguarding our children on the road.
