Update: Dollar Tree robbed overnight

The Elizabethtown Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place at the Dollar Tree in Elizabethtown.
“A breaking and entering, not an armed robbery, happened last night,” said Lt. McMichael.
He said someone entered the store between the time it closed on Monday night and the time employees began arriving for work on Tuesday. Lt. McMichael said the suspect removed money from the store’s safe.

Lt. McMichael said investigators are reviewing video from neighboring stores and working on leads.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information or who may have seen any unusual activity at the Dollar Tree overnight is asked to call the Elizabethtown Police Department by calling 910-872-3126.

Customers arriving at the Dollar Tree in Elizabethtown found the store closed on Tuesday morning. The Elizabethtown Police Department is on the scene at the store investigating an armed robbery as of 9:00 a.m.
Lt. Mark McMichael with the Elizabethtown Police Department verified the store, located at 1204 West Broad Street, was robbed. The scene is still under investigation.
