Passing peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Newport News, Virginia, Ellen Ann Bordeaux Bain, aged 80, was reunited with her late husband on Monday, January 7, 2019.
Ellen was born the youngest of 16 children in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. She was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She possessed a servant’s heart and was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bobby Ray Bain; her first-born son, Marty Ray Bain; a grandson, Lucas McMahon Bain; her parents, Julius Joshua Bordeaux and Maggie Lee (Devane) Bordeaux; and 13 of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bain Rains; her sons, Steve Glenn Bain, Gregory Lynn Bain, and Bruce Lane Bain (Tracy); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, W.J. Bordeaux; and a sister, Margaret Sessoms.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, Ellen would hope that you will perform an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone less fortunate than yourself.
