This Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. the Mother County Genealogical Society will be meeting at the Bladenboro Historical Society Building. Bonnie (Bridger) Mittelmaier will be the speaker for the event and will be talking about “Back To England, Digging Bridger Root”.
Also on Saturday, the First Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting the Hammond Creek Fun Day.
Saturday evening Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Bladenboro Benefit Committee will be sponsoring a Chicken & Rice Plate benefit for Jessica Allen Ludlum. The fundraiser will begin at 11 a.m. and all proceeds will go to benefit Ludlum. Each plate will cost a donation and bake sale items will be available.
Local talent will be performing “Into the Woods” at the Carolina Civic Center this Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at carolinaciviccenter.com or by calling the office at 910-738-4339.
Sunday afternoon, the annual Shaw-Elkins Family Reunion will take place at Lisbon Baptist Church. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall with the meal beginning at 12:45 p.m.
