The former operator of The Honey Hole nightclub in Bladenboro that was shut down in July accepted a plea agreement Monday in Bladen County Superior Court and will be on supervised probation for 18 months.

Michael Antione Spivey, 39, of Bladenboro plead guilty to maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substance. Along with probation, he was ordered to surrender all items in connection with the club and submit to a substance abuse assessment. Charges of possess for sale alcohol without permits, possess or sell non-tax paid alcoholic beverage and possession of firearm by a felon were dismissed.

In court statements Monday and in a previous release from N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement, after receiving several complaints, ALE began surveillance in February 2015 of the club located at Spivey and Currie Drive.

ALE agents and members of the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office raided the club about 2:30 a.m. on July 19, 2015, and found about 100 people present. Agents confiscated two firearms, a large amount of alcoholic beverages, non-tax paid liquor (moonshine), marijuana, prescription pills, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to ALE.

There also was a special VIP room where marijuana was kept and sold, according to a court summary of events.
