Yesterday marked a very generous holiday called Giving Tuesday. This holiday was officially launched in September 2012, two months before the first Giving Tuesday, which took place on November 27, 2012. Giving Tuesday ends up being on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is viewed as a worldwide movement of giving that unlocks the potential of individuals and organizations to impact their communities and the world.

This Giving Tuesday, many surrounding companies were encouraging community members to participate in this terrific anniversary.

A Shelter Friend posted on their Facebook Page about Giving Tuesday. Their main objective is to pull abandoned or surrendered animals from the killing center and rescue them. So far, they have saved 1106 lives, but lives also depend on donations. Without donations, they cannot continue to do their amazing work. They ask that you help them reach their goal of rescuing more animals by donating.

The Bladen Baptist Association Resource Center wishes for everyone to spend a week in prayer for their mission team as they prepare for their Appalachian Christmas Outreach Mission Trip in Mallory, West Virginia. The Bladen Baptist Association Resource Center will be posting prayers each day this week on their Facebook Page.

Bladen Community College wanted residents to “celebrate students’ success by giving to the Bladen Community College Foundation.” When you donate to the Bladen Community College Foundation, it helps financially stressed college students with their tuition and fees and provides funding support for Bladen Community College to continue offering quality programs that serve the needs of our community.

The Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (W.A.R.M) is also getting involved in Giving Tuesday. When you give to WARM, your money will be used to make repairs that will not only keep homes safe but also provide them with access; Access to a secure home, generational riches, and peace of mind.
