A golf tournament is scheduled to assist Bladen County’s Kayla Thompson in her quest to succeed as a professional golfer. Kayla, from Clarkton, played four years on the UNCW ladies’ golf team before she graduated last year. She has been in the top 20 amateur lady golfers in North Carolina. The tournament, a 4-man Superball, will be held Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. at Land O’ Lakes Golf Course near Whiteville. The cost is $60 a player and that covers the tourney, lunch and two mulligans. Anyone interested is ask to call 910-642-5757.
