FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Charlotte, NC Sept 5th, 2022: Charlotte’s own Black Business Owners Corp (BBOC), and Duke’s Mayo, have crowned a Winner of their 4-series Black Food Truck Competition. Food Trucks were given a Mystery Basket & a large jar of Duke’s Mayonnaise and had 1.5hrs to create a winning dish. GRITS CLT whipped up some amazing tacos that wowed the judges and became the Grand Prize winner, taking home a $6,000 Accelerator grant courtesy of Duke’s Mayo and BBOC’s Build Black Fund. Endless Soulfood came in 2nd place, winning a $2,000 Accelerator Grant, and 3rd place goes to Made From Scratch who also took home a prize, a $500 Accelerator grant. 1st & 2nd place winners were presented with a check during the 1st quarter of the Duke’s Mayo Classic game , featuring N.C. A&T and NCCU

Special Judges included; Mayor Vi Lyles, Congresswoman Alma Adams, Sheriff Gary McFadden and Executive Chefs; Chef Alyssa & Michael Taylor.

Grand Prize Winner, Chef Jo (GRITS CLT) says the $6,000 will give her room to breathe! She plans to use the winnings to invest in her business as readily accessible working capital, make a few repairs to her Food Truck, and go on a mini-vacation!
