The Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity in partnership with Bladen County Habitat for Humanity will conduct a home dedication for the McIntyre family at their new home on Monday at noon at 701 West King Street, Elizabethtown.

The family has spent many hours working hard on their new home and have completed their “sweat equity” and are ready to move in. Everyone is encouraged to come out to the home dedication and help welcome them home.

The partnership is an effort of the Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity’s commitment to build one new home in both Bladen and Sampson counties with funds from the State Employees’ Credit Union Foundation.

A groundbreaking ceremony was conducted on August 12th, 2016. During the ceremony the McIntyre family was announced as the recipients of the new home. On Monday, they will get the keys and can begin the process of making the house into a home.

Construction kick-off of this Bladen County home was celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony on August 12, 2016. The Bladen County home marked the first phase of FAHFH’s commitment to build one additional home in both Bladen and Sampson counties thanks to funds from the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation.

The SECU Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of North Carolina (HHNC) have signed a formal Memorandum of Agreement for a joint initiative to expand affordable housing across North Carolina–the SECU Habitat Mountains to the Sea Challenge. SECU Foundation’s Challenge will provide a significant investment of $10 million over a three year period for HHNC to build one new (or thoroughly renovated) home in each of NC’s 100 counties.
