Hurricane Florence is set to drench Bladen County with rainfall. The National Weather Service is forecasting Bladen County to receive an estimated 24 inches of rain.

“A few spots have already received upwards to 10 inches from rain gauge observations in southeast North Carolina,” said Steven Pfaff, with the National Weather Service Office in Wilmington.

River flooding is a concern with the possibility of flooding along the Cape Fear River which could rival Hurricane Matthew.

Bladen County has also been pummeled with wind gusts of 61 mph and maximum sustained winds of up to 45 mph.

“Florence continues to weaken, but strong gusty winds will continue tonight into Saturday,” said Pfaff.
